World War One had a large impact on the people of the 20th century, especially the women. Women all over North America and Europe felt the change in society, the change in the workplace and the changes of the woman’s status.
WW1 had different effects on women most were positive while some few were negative. The number of female domestic servants especially in England dropped, a wider range of occupations was opened for women, the wages increased, working conditions got better and the women gained more independence. Men were angered at the notion of women taking over their jobs and some men forced the women to stay at home.
